Discussing accelerated learning with Governor Brown

Yesterday, we spoke with 15 students from across the state about access to accelerated learning courses in their high school. This conversation was facilitated by the Chief Education Office. Students shared their experiences in school-based programs designed to prepare them for college, dual-credit courses offered both at the high school and a local college, and transferring this courses to college. They also discussed challenges and opportunities they faced in enrolling these courses and excelling.

Following this discussion, we facilitated a student panel with the Chief Education Office and Governor Kate Brown. She listened intently to the student experiences and looks forward to addressing the students' challenges as they tackle expanding accelerated learning courses across Oregon.
